Noted — that's very much on the to-do list and in the meantime, you can choose Format > Effects > Other > Perspective Transform to change the perspective of a layer.

Can't find Format! Command T brings text into operation - accessing Skew/Distort functions seems to be a random occurrence - frustrating!

Is there any chance you're accidentally pressing the "T" key alone? "T" is a shortcut for the Type tool, while Command + T should always bring up the Transform tool.

I get fonts with command-T

:rage:

This has being asked for since at least 2018.

Why is it in the free version and not the paid version!?

Doesn't work for me either: I get fonts.

cmd+T works here on M1/BigSur for calling "Transform".

Leslie, any chance you're running Pixelmator Classic (the orange app icon), rather than Pixelmator Pro? T or Command + T in Pixelmator Classic will bring up the fonts, while in Pixelmator Pro, Command + T will activate the Transform tool.

To transform an image in Pixelmator Classic, you'd want to press Command + F instead, then find the Skew, Distort, and Perspective options in the Action pop-up menu here:

Hope that helps!
