The iPad version of Pixelmator Pro is in our plans for the longer-term future.

Will the presets between Photomator for iOS & Photomator for Mac sync via iCloud? This does not appear to be the behavior currently.

I hope that it will be free for current lifetime licenses bought years ago.
Bought the Photomator iPad lifetime years ago as well, and very disappointed that I would need to pay to have Photomator for Mac :(

Yes! Preset syncing didn't make it into this update but we'll definitely work on this in the future. :ok_hand:

For users who purchased Photomator before August 18, 2022, we got an offer for 50% off the first year of Photomator. This automatically unlocks Photomator for Mac. However, if you decide not to take advantage of the offer, you get to keep the Photomator version you already own on iPhone and iPad, and it will continue to receive free updates in the future.

Can we, longtime users, get a discount on the lifetime license as well? I wouldn't mind paying again for the Mac version, but I'd rather have a discount on the lifetime than on the annual (and I'd imagine that'd be the case for many old users, who got into Photomator for it was a single purchase).

Thank you for offering the lifetime, and the discount for my previous purchase. Easy buy from me!

Could there be a more significant discount for Pixelmator Pro users? The main extra feature is the convenience of the filmstrip and the gradient masks (though I work that out myself in Pixelmator Pro). All the other features are pretty much the same as far as photo editing is concerned. That said, I don't see a huge reason for me to use Photomator.

I couldn't find any pricing info, I checked the blog, faq and App Store. I'm interested in the perpetual license.

you can check the mac app store for pricing.

When I open Photomator and open the purchase section I get a reduced offer for the lifetime license of converted about 70 USD. About 50% discount I believe.

To Pixelmator team: Is that the special offer you mentioned for people who bought pixelmator photo early on before it turned subscription?

Same here. It would be nice for long time users as myself.

Hi Aurelija,

I bought your App on the iPad before. Image

But when I open it on my Mac I don't get the discount. Image

Is that offer limited to the US? Or is the AppStore acting up on my side?

Thank you very much in advance.

Edit: OK, looks like I confused myself with the newsarticle I read about it. In your support-document it is explained more understandably, that only Pro-users get the discount.

I have the same question.

Photomator could develop into a much more useful app when it gets DAM and other features added but right now it seems like Pixelmator Pro with a few extra features.

Purchased. Can't wait to start sorting my massive Photos library. One thing I hope you consider adding to the road map is to be competing with DXO Pure Raw and Lightrooms amazing De-noise feature. It's absolutely mind blowing.
Good job Pixelmator team.

Yes, but I “don’t do subscriptions”, I will buy the Lifetime (as I always have) with the 30% discount.
Still, should have been included with the Lifetime owners of the iPad Photomator

Anyway, that aside, you guys do a great job with updates to great Apps, well worth the cost, but we just disagree with the definitions of Lifetime and Cross-Platforms

Are there any plans to bundle Pixelmator Pro and Photomator lifetime together? Is there anything specifically that Photomator can do that Pixelmator Pro cannot?

Hello. I searched (superficially, I admit, so I might have missed it) the forum and could not find this topic: if I understand correctly, the idea is Photomator works above the Photos library. Is there any future plan to work out its own library? For me, inherent part of any photo editor is file management. I use Photos primarily for iPhone photos, which I mostly do not need to edit (beyond what Photos.app can do), and for exports from my actual photo library, i.e. developed photos. I shoot Nikon RAW and I certainly do not want to bring this huge volume of data into the system Photos library. For this reason, following Aperture demise years ago, I am tied to Lightroom. Net, to consider moving (I do appreciate what Pixelmator does, using all your other apps on all platforms since like ever), photo management is a must have. Cheers!

There is a limited 30% discount on Photomator for Mac Lifetime for current owners of Pixelmator Pro
(Edit: I see in a subsequent reply that the discount varies by country, so "check it on the Photomator page on the Mac App Store.")

We totally understand where you're coming from, and really appreciate the support of long-time users like yourself. However, for a while, we've been also giving Photomator away for free and it's now impossible to distinguish users who received it for free and those who paid, so we've decided to go for the middle ground with this by offering a 50% discount for a yearly subscription to all users who got Photomator before August 18th, 2022.

The feature set of Photomator is dedicated to photo editing workflows, so if you're not editing large volumes of photos, it totally makes sense that using Pixelmator Pro alone might perfectly meet your needs. If, however, you feel like your workflow might change at some point in the future, and you'd need a more library-focused app — now is the best time to get Photomator with this special release discount.

The Photomator pricing slightly differs from country to country, so it would be best to check it on the Photomator page on the Mac App Store.

Pixelmator Pro users can currently get Photomator for 30% off, so it's sort of a bundle right now. As for when the sale ends — we are considering different options, but have nothing concrete to share right now.
