    Great tutorial!!

  3. Devani

Great! …needed to know that since I do a lot of images for web!

  4. Truffy

The ability to ‘save as’ instead of dragging an icon to a folder would be appreciated.

  5. Carib

@Truffy the ability to ‘save as’ is there. Simply hit “next” top right of screen in blue and you get the option. I welcome the icon drag as it provides a simple option to save different versions in various web formats even on the fly.

I notice that PNGs exported for web are a lot smaller (file size kilobytes) than PNGs exported normally. What is the web export version doing differently? PNGs use lossless compression so why wouldn’t every PNG created by Pixelmator be as small as possible? Is it because it’s automatically reducing the palette when I export for web?

  13. Ausra

    Red,

Export for Web feature drops all extra file information, such as meta data, color profiles, etc., therefore the file size is smaller.

I was curious if you ever considered changing the structure of your blog?

Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people
could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or
two images. Maybe you could space it out better?
