Learn how to place any picture into some particular area of another image.
Layers, the Lasso Tool, the transform tools, and the color adjustment tools are used in this tutorial.
Step 1
Open any image in Pixelmator. To achieve a result similar to that shown in the tutorial, use a stock image of a Polaroid.

Step 2
Click to select the Polygonal Lasso Tool (L) in the Tools palette. Using the Polygonal Lasso Tool, select any area in the image (in our case, the middle part of the Polaroid image) see the example in the image below as a reference.

Step 3
Smooth the selection edges, choose Edit > Refine Selection and increase the Feather to approximately 5. Click OK.

Step 4
To place another image into the selected area, first remove the selected area by choosing Edit > Cut. Then choose Edit > Deselect to turn off the selection.

Step 5
Drag-and-drop any image from your Desktop onto the composition to place it.

Step 6
Use the Transform Tools (Edit > Transform) to move, scale and rotate the placed image so it fits approximately into the empty area. Then, simply drag the layer with the placed image below the layer with the empty area (in our case, below the layer of the Polaroid image).

Optional Step
To make the color tone of the placed image look more like the color tone of a Polaroid photo, experiment by dragging various different Channel Mixer (Image > Chanel Mixer) sliders. Click OK when done.

Good tutorial, thank you
