Hi all
If you need to add shadow to your layers, have a look at this Shadow Quartz composition.
An example of this effect:

Controls look like this:

Hope you'll find this useful.

Hi
Quartz compositions have to be moved in (if you use Pixelmator 1.6):
/Library/Compositions/
to make them available to all users of your computer
or
~/Library/Compositions/
to make them available to yourself only

With previous Pixelmator version, you have to move them in:
/System/Library/Compositions/
Hope this helps.

Shadow.qtz is the file to move in one of the three "Compositions" folder.
Btw., please download this composition one more time because I've just made a "small" edit to the file.

Hi
As Filters (including Quartz compositions) are used in a destructive way by PXM, I should answer: No, there's no way to adjust shadow position after applying the effect… unless you move the layer itself.
So, I've made a small edit, adding a way to hide the original image:
The new controls (note the new Hide Original checkbox):

Show Original (default state):

Hide original in action:

So, to use it:
- duplicate your layer
- apply this Shadow effect (hiding the original image of course ;^))
- then move the shadow layer below the original layer
Hope you'll find this useful.

A last note: most, if not all, Quartz compositions that you may download from the BeLight Community website have been made with Image Tricks (from BeLight Software) in mind so, some of these compositions may be useless with PXM (Focus) or may have a strange, wrong, "buggy" behavior (Frames & Borders…).
Saying that, if you find some of them interesting but you think that they need to be modified to be used with PXM, feel free to send me a note about them.
