What I"m trying to say is that, so far, all the tutorials I've been using on this site simply don't allow me to continue any further. IE; the tutorial says go to IMAGE, then scroll down to CONVERT, well, it simply doesn't open up anything.

I can only guess that its my newer "Spider 1.5 spider version trying to go against the OLD version of Pixelmator!...

I hope I explained this problem right....So, just what is the problem with these tutorials? I desperately want to learn this great program and have no where to learn it except from these Pixelmator tutorials.

Please help me solve this dilemma.

thanks.....

The manual is an old version too. And it takes a gallon of black ink to print. Smile

Yes, that's why I don't want to print out the manual. So, instead, I just purchased the Pixelmator manual from "LuLu Company" and only hope that its not the older version of Pixelmator.

I paid $30.00 for the manual and sofar it hasn't arrived. So, my question here is: Assuming that its the older Pixelator manual, can I still use it?...

Right now, I'm using version 1.5 Spider.....hope the manual is the same!....

It's not like the functions changed, or the keyboard shortcuts. All of those things stay the same. There are new features added, so usually in most cases you can use any tutorial (same with the manual) because it let's you work with what the software had at that time, but still has since nothing was removed. Some things were maybe reorganized a little but I used PXM since the beta and I didn't see a lot of interface changes except for the obvious updates. Good luck!

The printed manual at Lulu.com does not appear to be very good value. It was written over 2 years ago for V.1, so it does not cover any features added in the 5 subsequent revisions. Also, it is only 78 pages long while the most current PDF for v.1.4 is 234 pages in length.

There is a better solution for those who wish to print it out without using up a "gallon" of black ink, and that is to invert the colors in the document so that the text prints black (and grayscale) on a white background. In order to perform this function, do the following:

1. Open the file in Acrobat Reader 8 or above (may also work in previous versions, but I didn't test it)

2. Go to Adobe Reader>Preferences>Accessibility. Check the box that says Replace Document Colors, then check the appropriate colors for Page Background and Document Text. Close the Preferences palette.

After about 30 seconds, the entire document will be inverted, while the colored images remain unchanged. Then simply print the document. Easy!

Tried printing in Adobe Reader 9.
Looked great on the screen, but reverted to original colours when printed.

There is a white background version of user manual that is much more economical to print. You can get it at the following link: http://pixelmator.s3.amazonaws.com/Pixelmator-Manual-151-WB.pdf
