I really like most aspects of the front design, but not so much the basic, as the choice of color! I think I end up using very similar schemes for many of my pages because I just don't know what else to do!
Does anybody have good resources to select or find inspiration?

There are quite a few color schene generators online — have you had a chance to try any? Otherwise, it's always worth checking out places like https://dribbble.com for inspiration.
