I am running High Sierra on a mid 2010 MAC with 24 bit color, 16 GB memory, 1 processor and 2 cores (intel i3) with 898.19 GB available out of 999 for storage. Will the new "Pro" work for me and this is a new purchase and not able to upgrade from previous program?

Hi! In order for Pixelmator Pro to run your mac has to support Metal. Unfortunately, Macs made before 2012 don't have this support. See which macs are supported here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205073

I have a 2010 MacPro as well and fully loaded with a GTX 1080Ti. My system report says that Metal is supported...maybe via the card and not the CPU...so confused right now. I can't even download it from the App Store.

UPDATE
Apple confirmed that MacPros before 2013 DO NOT support Metal even though aftermarket GPUs show it is supported.

Thank you for making a reply. Both replies confirmed my suspicions....
