Twirl Angle is Backwards?

When using the Twirl tool, the effect seems to be most intense at 0º, and decrease in intensity as the angle goes toward 360º. As I spin the angle spinner counterclockwise, the visual twirl effect spins clockwise. This leads me to believe that there's some sort of unintentional negation happening, or perhaps two function arguments got swapped.
