Volume Purchases on the Mac App Store

Today we heard some exciting news from Apple. All Mac apps will soon be eligible to join the Volume Purchase Program for Business and Education. This means that all businesses and educational institutions will finally be able to buy multiple copies of apps at once.

We are thrilled to announce that Pixelmator will be available on the Volume Purchase Program for Business and Education as soon as it rolls out. And we have even more great news for educational institutions. We will give a whopping 50 percent volume discount to all educational institutions that buy 20 or more copies of Pixelmator in a single order.

Pixelmator has been on the Mac App Store since day one, and we’ve been very happy about it. And now we are even happier because absolutely everyone, including students, teachers, and employees, will be able to get Pixelmator on their Macs through the Mac App Store.

This is great news. I hope it encourages organisations, especially educational, to look at Pixelmator as an alternative to Adobe. If Pixelmator starts to get a grass-roots user base from a school and colledge age this can only bode well for the future 🙂

I really hope Pixelmator becomes huge. De facto image editing on the Mac huge I mean. The Volume Purchase Program must be a helpful step in the right direction.

Great solution! Adobe literally has its head in the clouds (pun intended), and I have no doubt that you guys will eventually kill Photoshop.

    Excellent news !
This was a major flaw in the App Store, glad Apple’s turning it into a strength !

Any idea as to when this policy will be implemented by Apple? I may be an early one to take advantage.

    That’s great!
I’m joining a small start-up that will be using Pixelmator from the word go.
A volume licence is exactly what we need!

Pixelmator is garbage. I can do in 2 minutes with MS Paint what it takes hours to figure out with this shitty, non-intuitive piece of crap software. Hell, even PowerPoint is better. Hey, smarmy dumb-assed Byzantine bozos, unnecessary complication does not equate superiority. My 1979 Apple II shipped with a couple of floppy disks better graphics software.

    Hey Dion,

Is there anything in particular you don’t like, or you just don’t like Pixelmator in general? If you need help using any of the tools, just drop us an email at support@pixelmator.com. We’d be more than happy to help.
