Pixelmator 1.5.1 is now available
Although we werenโt in a hurry to release Pixelmator 1.5.1, it was built in a comparatively short period of time (two weeks of development, plus one week for testing). Some of its features include:
- Brush Collections
- Fit Images and Crop Images Automator Actions
- Move to Applications dialog (thank you to the Potion Factory and Delicious Library for inspiring this feature)
- A tiny Dock menu
- The ability to change the background color of the work area
- Many more tiny improvements and important bug fixes
Pixelmator 1.5.1 is available for download immediately. Itโs a highly recommended update for everyone; undeniably, its appeal is in the details.
Enjoy! The entire Pixelmator Team is getting to work on Pixelmator 1.6 Nucleus, and it is going very well.

La verdad que la colecciรณn de pinceles era necesaria, es un buen punto y el resto tambiรฉn suenan muy bien, a probarlos. ๐

Yes, brush collections! Pasting clipboard content to the middle of the viewable area is also pretty great. Keep up the good work!

you are beautiful ๐
(ps. 1.5.1 releases notes year is 2009, should be 2010)

Sweet. Great updates. The next update should have layer folders ๐
Mike
Once again -thank you. Great to know bugfixes are your priority.

Brushes! Yeah! That’s a great way to go.
I also browsed through the bug fixes / updates list and it seems some nice touches have been added. Let’s hope the big three makes it to the nucleus (text tool, layer styles, layer folders). Keep up the good work. And if you add those things I’m gonna buy another license just for the sake of saying “thank you!” ๐
Matthias
Ah very, very, very good update!
And a great THANK YOU!
The brushes were getting a big problem for me on my MacBook. Now it’s clean and useful.
And I’m curious about the bugfixes. Hope some of major problems are solved now.
Danke fรผr eure super Arbeit!!!

Hurrah ๐ had Pixelmator loaded up so was a nice thing to restart to find the update downloading ๐ Looking forward to playing with it.

((is alt click on a brush supposed to delete it without the contextual menu appearing?))
Also, and I may be being particularly thick here, but the brush palette goes off screen and I can’t see an option to create folders? I read the help page and it suggested looking in a folder that doesn’t exist (h>lib>appsupport>Pix>brushes folder but that isn’t there). Any suggestions much appreciated.
Kercal
Righto deleted enough brushes to see the bottom line. May be worth moving that icon up to the top? Or a dialog box somewhere so that people can move their brushes around without having to delete them all to access the icon?

Hurrah ๐ loving being back in the Pixelmator saddle: http://www.twitpic.com/139ekq

Great news! Thank you guys and good luck! Your office is inspiring for us at Pixmac ๐
Jay
Yay, gray background images! This makes it much easier when you have lots image windows open at once. The black background made it hard to see the borders of the different windows before.

export for web produces very poor quality indexed files. it’s the main reason i need to have photoshop installed. can you please fix it? ๐ thanks for the great work.
Henrique
Fast iterations, many updates. That’s good, keep up!
Jim
good work!
however, the app is still very unstable in full screen mode, resulting in a crash. 2007 intel GMA white macbook 10.6.2.
I will try to catch that crash so it’s 100% reproductible

I keep seeing all these awesome brushes bundles for PS and I can’t use them, with this update can I?
Thanks,

I tried to download v. 1.5.1 – the last version compatible with my ppc based Mac. The zip file unpacks, leaving an icon for Pixelmator that says it cannot be opened because the file that created it could not be found. Any suggestions?
Chris
The same problem here! I purchased Pixelmator 1.x and lost my file. I got MAc OS 10.8 and I cannot run the version 3.x!
Ausra
Chris, Pixelmator 3.2 Sandstone requires OS X Mavericks.
